The Deputy Head of Press role is to implement public affairs programmes across the markets and banking franchise to support the business strategy and goals. Job holder’s main objectives are to:

1.Develop interesting and compelling stories and collateral and help manage the delivery of these messages through the most appropriate means, e.g. press releases, press conferences, press articles, newsletters etc.;

2.Develop strong and positive relationships with journalists from across financial media spectrum;

3.Ensure of the company news regularly appear in the targeted financial press, providing macroeconomic analysis as and when appropriate.

4.Collaborate with other marketing communications functions across the business to provide input and support for promotional and branding activity;

Specifically the purpose of this position is to structure and implement public relations programmes, organize media events and seminars and be the point of contact for media enquiries.

Principal Accountabilities

STRATEGIC PLANNING, MANAGEMENT, FULFILLMENT AND FOLLOW UP

 Develop and implement appropriate press strategies to support business objectives.

 Act as adviser to business units on media strategies and relations

 Work with the Public Affairs team in Russia and marketing and product teams in London, Dubai and Singapore to develop media materials and organize media events including press releases, press trips and seminars, Q&A’s and other material as appropriate

 Develop and maintain relationships with key Russian and international media

 Work with appointed PR agency to maximize press coverage of the business and products and ensure consistency of strategy, messages, positioning and sharing of ideas

MEDIA RELATIONS MANAGEMENT

 Press and Media relations/List of Spokespersons Policy management: update, promotion, follow up

 Preparation of all kinds of planned and non-planned media events for company, business direction, management

 Press queries daily maintenance (journalists, publications, topics, results)

 Preparation of responses to oral and written questions of press representatives

 Participation in preparation of any press-materials, including comments, interview, articles, press-releases, back-ground-materials, Q&As, announcements and news

 Press monitoring and back-ground of daily press-clipping

 Preparation of press events (press conferences, press briefings, round tables, off-the –record events)

 Data bases maintenance (journalists, publications and press media, press releases distribution lists, analytical reviews distribution lists)

 Monitoring and list of main events with press organized by key editions

 Preparation of news’ and notices’ text for web site and for newsletter

 Analysis and report on media activities

 Planning of media activities for business areas

 Cooperation with media agencies, including analysis and reports

 Development, coordination and report on media programmes and activities in regions

Key Competencies & Qualifications

 Planning and project management experience;

 Experience in a large international corporate environment;

 Fluent English;

 Degree level educated

 Experience in public relations, ideally within financial services field (investment banking preferable)

 Excellent interpersonal skills, combining the ability to build effective networks of relations within the business and with media

 Established knowledge of and relationships with key media and journalists

 Proven writing skills in Russian and English

 Experience of meeting demands across multiple clients or business units

 Excellent communications skills, written and verbal in both Russian and English.

 Excellent planning and organizational skill

 Hard working team player with a sense of humor
